Report Nonconsensual Intimate Images Removal
Choosing the Right Way to Report
Teachable takes the nonconsensual distribution of intimate images seriously. There are two ways to request removal:
Recommended Option 1: Request Removal Under Teachable's Policy
Teachable's own content policy prohibits nonconsensual intimate imagery and does not require you to upload, attach, or describe the image in detail. You do not need to re-expose yourself to the content. Simply identify the school or URL involved, and our Trust & Safety team will investigate. You do not need to submit a formal legal request to have content removed. You can submit a request by email at abuse@teachable.com. DO NOT SEND ATTACHMENTS.
Legal Request Option 2: Request Removal Under the US TAKE IT DOWN Act
Under the TAKE IT DOWN Act (47 U.S.C. § 223a), individuals in the United States may submit a formal legal request for removal of nonconsensual intimate visual depictions, including AI-generated deepfakes. Because this is a statutory request, you will be asked for specific information required by federal law.
Important note about the legal request form: The TAKE IT DOWN Act requires that you provide information sufficient to identify the specific content at issue. In some cases, this may mean providing a URL where the image or video appears, or describing the content in enough detail for us to locate it. We understand this may be distressing. Teachable is required by law to preserve evidence related to valid requests. If you prefer not to interact directly with the content, we encourage you to use Option 1 above — our policy-based process — which does not require you to identify or describe the image in detail.
US TAKE IT DOWN Act — Legal Request
If you choose to submit a formal request under the TAKE IT DOWN Act, please continue below. Upon receiving a valid request, Teachable will remove the identified content and any known identical copies within 48 hours.
What You Will Need
- The URL(s) or location of the content on Teachable (e.g., the school URL, course page, or lesson where the content appears).
- Your identity — whether you are the depicted individual or an authorized representative.
- If you are an authorized representative (e.g., a parent, guardian, or attorney), evidence of your authority to act on behalf of the depicted individual.
- Contact information so Teachable can reach you regarding your request.
- A statement confirming that the depicted individual did not consent to the publication of the content.
Evidence preservation: When you submit a legal request, Teachable will preserve a copy of the reported content as may be required by law. This preserved copy will not be publicly accessible and will be retained only as necessary for legal compliance.
