General Terms & Conditions for Promotions
PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY. THEY EXPLAIN WHO CAN USE A TEACHABLE PROMOTIONAL SUBSCRIPTION OFFER, HOW LONG THE DISCOUNT LASTS, AND WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE PROMOTIONAL PERIOD ENDS.
1. Introduction
1.1. Teachable, Inc. (“Teachable,” “we,” or “us”) may from time to time offer promotional codes, coupons, discount links, or similar offers (each, a “Coupon”) that reduce the subscription fee for a paid Teachable Plan for a limited period (the “Promotional Period”)
1.2. These Teachable Promotional Coupon Terms (the “Coupon Terms”) are Product-Specific Terms under Section 12(8) of the Teachable Terms of Use (the “Terms of Use”). The Terms of Use, including the Privacy Policy and the other documents it incorporates, govern everything not addressed in these Coupon Terms. If these Coupon Terms conflict with the Terms of Use, these Coupon Terms control only for the Coupon in question.
1.3. Each Coupon is also subject to the specific conditions stated when the Coupon is advertised or distributed (the “Offer Details”), such as the discount amount, the eligible Teachable Plans, the length of the Promotional Period, purchase requirements and the redemption deadline. If the Offer Details conflict with these Coupon Terms, the Offer Details control.
1.4. These Coupon Terms cover only Coupons issued by Teachable for Teachable Plan subscription fees. They do not cover coupons or discounts that a Creator offers for its own Creator Content. Those are set and administered by the Creator.
2. Eligibility
2.1. Unless the Offer Details expressly state that a Coupon is available to current or past subscribers, a Coupon may be redeemed only by a New Customer. A “New Customer” is a person or entity that, as of redemption, (a) has never subscribed to any paid Teachable Plan, on any account or school, and (b) has never redeemed a Coupon or received any other promotional discount from Teachable. Teachable may use account, billing, payment method, email, and other information to determine whether you are a New Customer.
2.2. If the Offer Details state that a Coupon is available to current subscribers, you must hold an active paid Teachable Plan on the account where you redeem the Coupon, and any other conditions in the Offer Details apply. If the Offer Details state that a Coupon is available to past subscribers, your prior paid Teachable Plan must have ended before the date stated in the Offer Details.
2.3. To redeem a Coupon, you must also (a) meet the eligibility and account requirements in Section 2 of the Terms of Use, (b) provide a valid payment method accepted by Teachable, and (c) satisfy any additional requirements in the Offer Details.
2.4. Each Coupon may be redeemed once per customer, and Coupons may not be combined with any other Coupon, discount, or promotion unless the Offer Details say otherwise.
3. Redemption and Acceptance
3.1. You redeem a Coupon by entering the code or following the promotional link at checkout, selecting an eligible Teachable Plan, and submitting a valid payment method. Coupons cannot be applied retroactively to a purchase already made.
3.2. By redeeming a Coupon, you accept these Coupon Terms, the Offer Details, and the Terms of Use.
3.3. Coupons have no cash value, cannot be sold, transferred, exchanged, or redeemed for cash, and cannot be applied to amounts other than the Teachable Plan subscription fee stated in the Offer Details. Unless the Offer Details say otherwise, a Coupon does not reduce additional usage fees, transaction fees, processing fees, taxes, or the fees for any other product, feature, or service.
4. Promotional Period and Renewal
4.1. The discount applies for the Promotional Period stated in the Offer Details, beginning when your redemption is accepted.
4.2. When the Promotional Period ends, your Teachable Plan continues and renews automatically at the then-current price for that plan, as described in Section 12 of the Terms of Use, unless you cancel before the Promotional Period ends. You are responsible for reviewing the applicable price before the Promotional Period ends.
4.3. If you cancel, downgrade, or change your Teachable Plan during the Promotional Period, the Coupon ends and cannot be reinstated or transferred to another plan or account, unless the Offer Details say otherwise.
4.4. Any refund is governed by Section 14.1 of the Terms of Use and is limited to the amounts you actually paid.
5. Taxes
Applicable taxes are calculated on the discounted price you pay, as described in Section 11 of the Terms of Use.
6. Availability and Changes
6.1. Each Coupon must be redeemed before the deadline in the Offer Details. Coupons are void where prohibited by law.
6.2. Teachable may modify, suspend, or end any Coupon at any time. Changes do not affect a Coupon you have already redeemed, except as permitted by Section 6.3.
6.3. Teachable may cancel a Coupon or revoke a discount already applied, and may charge the standard subscription fee for any period covered by the discount, if you obtained or used the Coupon through fraud, abuse, misrepresentation, or a breach of these Coupon Terms or the Terms of Use. Examples include creating multiple accounts to redeem the same Coupon, sharing a Coupon that the Offer Details mark as non-transferable, and misrepresenting your status as a New Customer.
7. General
7.1. Teachable's decisions on eligibility, redemption, and any dispute about a Coupon are final, subject to applicable law.
7.2. These Coupon Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and any dispute is subject to the arbitration, jury trial waiver, and class action waiver provisions in Section 20 of the Terms of Use.
7.3. Teachable may update these Coupon Terms as described in Sections 19 and 24 of the Terms of Use. Updates apply on a going-forward basis and do not change the Offer Details of a Coupon you have already redeemed.
